Dan Dawson is the Chief Creative Technology Officer at
multi award winning DOOH agency Grand Visual.

I head up Creative & Technology departments at Grand Visual in my role as Chief Creative Technology Officer. My role is a natural fit given my curious techy/geek nature and obsessive passion for creativity.

I have designed, developed and directed projects that have been seen, consumed, interacted with, inspired and entertained hundreds of millions of people since Grand Visual began. During the 11 years at Grand Visual I’ve directed Angels to land on station concourses, created ads triggered by weather conditions, augmented Mickey Mouse into Times Square, had people play with their shadows, and directed Aliens to descend on London. Additionally, last year I was responsible for directing the first fully programmatic DOOH campaign for Google.

Over the years, I have achieved scores of media firsts for our clients and helped fill a cabinet full of trophies from Cannes Lions to D&ADs from OBIES to Eurobests… Ably assisted by an amazing team at GV, I can always be found with a smile my face and a cup of tea getting cold next to me.

I’m a father to two amazing kids, and the husband to an incredible woman. All three of them inspire me on a daily basis and collectively they have changed my life completely. With all this joy in my life I manage save my frustration for my sports life…. I’m a passionate golfer playing off 14.2 with eyes on getting that to single figures before I hit the big four zero [any tips welcome] and I’m a season ticket holder at Spurs. Both of my sporting worlds have showed me abject joy and frustration in equal measures over the years…. sometimes on the same day.

What do I really do then?

I deliver: Technically powerful ideas that look beautiful and deliver emotion for brands and products.
